The Opportunity

Business Development Executive

A new and exciting position within our sales department - you'll be responsible for developing new business opportunities for our IT services including Proactive IT support, IT Security, Business Continuity, Cloud Services and Telephony offerings.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to establish a successful pipeline of opportunities for recurring revenue streams at the forefront of our new business and growth strategy.

The primary purpose of the position is to develop New Business sales opportunities by securing qualified appointments for our business development managers to attend and close. You will be responsible for executing a sales strategy of generating, nurturing, and creating new opportunities.

As a new business sales position, we are looking for an energetic, hungry, and tenacious business winner looking to make their mark in IT sales - this role would suit a candidate looking to develop a career in telesales with a view to progress into a customer facing new business role with huge potential.

We are looking for an individual who can demonstrate the ability to build rapport and sell to business owners and board level executives.

The ideal candidate will have exceptional communication skills both written and oral who is a fluent, confident, and persuasive presenter to all customer levels.

This role offers great career progression within IT sales, with a typical progression path to Business Development Manager.

  • Outbound Telephone Prospecting

Key Responsibilities

  • Outbound Telephone Prospecting - approximately 60 - 90 outbound calls a day

  • New Business Prospecting - Both to existing target customer base & self-generated prospect targets

  • Source New Sales Opportunities - Through inbound lead follow-up, outbound cold calls and emails

  • Route Qualified Opportunities - Escalate to the appropriate sales executives for further development and closure

  • Maintain CRM System - Update and maintain accurate pipeline and forecasting using existing CRM systems

Requirements and what we look for

  • A minimum of five GCSE levels graded A* - C
    (or equivalent) including English & Maths

  • At least 6 months sales or telesales experience in a B2B business environment (preferably in an IT or technology related industry/sector)

  • Strong skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and organisational skills

  • Excellent influencing and negotiation skills
