The right backup for your IT team
Co-managed IT is for businesses that already have internal IT staff but need more. More senior expertise, more out-of-hours cover, more project capacity, or specialist skills your team doesn't have. We slot into your existing setup as an extension of the team, not a replacement.
-
Senior tier 2/3 escalation
Your team handles day-to-day, we step in for the complex issues, escalations, and incidents that need senior engineers.
-
24/7 cover
Your team works business hours, we cover nights, weekends, and holidays. Critical issues never go unanswered.
-
Specialist expertise
Azure, M365, SD-WAN, cybersecurity, virtualisation - the niche skills that don't justify a full-time hire but make a real difference when you need them.
-
Project capacity
Cloud migrations, M365 rollouts, infrastructure refreshes. We bring the senior project leads and engineering capacity to deliver on time.
Why internal IT teams in Milton Keynes work with Aztech
Most of our co-managed clients in Milton Keynes have one to three internal IT staff doing great work, but stretched too thin to do everything. We bridge the gap. Our engineers integrate with your team's processes, ticketing system, and on-call rota, so the experience is seamless for end users.
-
Flexible engagement models - per-user, block hours, retainer, or T&M depending on what fits your team's structure.
-
Senior engineers averaging 12+ years of experience, available as an extension of your internal team.
-
Tooling and process integration - we work with your existing PSA, RMM, and documentation, not against them.
How does the handoff between our team and yours work?
We agree clear handoff rules during onboarding. Common patterns include: your team handles tickets in working hours, we cover out-of-hours; or your team handles tier 1 and we handle anything escalated; or your team owns specific systems and we own others. Whatever fits, documented properly so nothing falls between the cracks.
Will end users notice they're talking to a different provider?
No, if you don't want them to. We can operate as Aztech with our own branding, or as a white-label extension of your IT team using your branding and processes. Most clients prefer the latter for end users.
Can we change the scope as we grow?
Yes. Co-managed engagements are designed to flex. As your team grows, we can shrink. As your business grows and needs more, we can scale up. Quarterly reviews keep the scope aligned with reality.
Co-managed IT vs fully managed IT
What Our Client Say
"Aztech feel like part of our team, not just a supplier. They're always thinking ahead, recommending changes before we even realise we need them. The quarterly reviews have completely changed how we plan our IT spending."
Majid AL-Kader
CEO mXreality
"We stopped worrying about IT the month Aztech took over. Everything just works now, updates happen in the background, issues get caught before we even notice, and if something does come up, their team is on it straight away. It's like having an in-house IT department without the overhead."
Jack Salsbury
IT Manager, Autotech Recruit
"What stands out is how fast they move. We had a server issue at 7am on a Monday, and Aztech had it resolved before most of the team had logged in. That's not a one-off either, that's just how they operate."
Liam Hennigan
Director, Hennigan Civil Engineering
Co-managed IT in Milton Keynes - common questions
It varies, but the most common patterns are: 24/7 out-of-hours support, senior tier 2/3 escalation, security operations (SOC), specialist Microsoft 365 or Azure work, and project capacity. We tailor the scope to your team's specific gaps and capacity constraints.
More flexibly than fully managed. Common models: per-user per-month with reduced rates because you're handling some scope internally; monthly block hours for when you just need senior capacity; retainer plus T&M for project-led engagements. We agree pricing structure during scoping.
Yes. We typically work with whatever PSA (ticketing) and RMM (monitoring) systems you have in place - ConnectWise, Autotask, HaloPSA, NinjaOne, Datto RMM, you name it. We can also bring our tooling if that's preferred.
This is one of the biggest reasons clients choose co-managed - resilience. If your internal IT person leaves, you don't have a business-critical gap. We can immediately step up coverage and help recruit a replacement, or we can transition to fully managed if that's preferred.
Yes. Knowledge transfer is part of how we work. Many of our clients see their internal team's capability grow significantly through working with our engineers - documentation, processes, and skills get formalised as part of the engagement.
1-5 internal IT staff is the sweet spot. With one IT person, co-managed solves the single-point-of-failure problem. With 3-5, it adds specialist depth and out-of-hours cover. Above 10 internal IT staff, you're usually looking at specific specialist services rather than co-managed IT.
